All things good must come to an end.... again!

Memorial Day has come and gone... snif-snif. A great beautiful weekend! Yeah, it may have rained every day, but that didn't stop the Fox family from having fun and enjoying all that God has to give.

We had a late celebration for D's 14th birthday. We partied-hardy at the home. Grams, Gramps, Mom & Dad attended, and Chris and Randy made an appearance as well. Our Saturday evening was spent eating some BBQ'd hamburgers and hot dogs. What better way to spend a memorial day weekend! Everyone left stuffed as usual and I had my normal "bload-and-almost-get-sick-becuase-I'm-so-stuffed" party afterwards.

Sunday my outdoor thermometer read 96 degrees! So we decided to go fishing and get sunburned too! It was a lot of fun. Evan had the catch-of-the-day landing a nice size cat. It put up a little 'fight' for him too!

Monday I tried out the Jalapeño recipe that I posted earlier this month. Here are some pictures (as promised) with a condensed recipe.


Get a Jalapeño Corer. (You can find this at Cabellas or on-line)












Stuff some creme cheese into a cake decorator bag. One bar of creme cheese will fill about 12 med to large size Jalapeños.











Cut them tops off.













Fill'er up!














Wrap'em with bacon, stick'em with toothpicks, and lay on a foil sheet.













Grill'em for 30 minutes over indirect heat. Bacon should be crispy. Enjoy.

Let's jump to Easter!

Christ has risen. He has risen indeed!

It's been quite a while since my last post, which was right before Christmas of 2006. Suppose that there is something about the holidays that make me want to capture the moment of sorts!

Anyway, I'm still alive, and Dana and I are as happy as Easter bunnies! Thank God for that.

The kids aren't over this Easter. J & A are at their dads, and D & E are with their mom this Easter. K has moved with her Dad for now. The boys say that she will be back soon.

We spent the day at Grandmas for a "brunch" of sorts. Mom made the food, including delicacies such as egg brownies, other items made of eggs, french-toast casserole, sausage, and there were a bunch of treats!

Dad was there but he looked beat. He has been working on a 6 story condominium with his job. Last week he put in more than 90 hours. He obviously hasn't seemed himself lately. He is putting in all he has for the job. He said in two more weeks, he should be having a bit more time to himself.

Dad also had a MRI, which came back absolutely great! His next one isn't for two more years!

One thing I should mention in my blog, is that we moved from Overland Park to Raymore, Missouri last year. We purchased our first house! I'm so happy!

So many good things have happened, and so few bad. Thank the Lord! As mom always said, "Be proud that you have bettered yourself. Make time for you."

What about Christmas?

Okay,

This is my attempt to do the blog thing. I have all this stuff in my head, and this sounds like a good place to let it out. Lets just see how often I can keep it updated. LOL Anyway...

Christmas is just around the corner. 11 days I think. When the kids come over, we have been creating some Bible studies that deal with Christmas and Christ. Trying to teach them the importance of keeping Christ in Christmas. They seem to enjoy the time together. Its especially nice that we can talk about the Bible as a family.

We finally wrapped the last present today. Ohh my... we went way over budget. Joe was the last one for us to shop for. Dana didn't like what they had at the WM when we first did our shopping. We went again last night, and found some things that we think he would like now.

It's always hard to figure out what to get people. Especially when we went over budget. I just feel bad that I'm leaving someone out or that they will get there feelings hurt. For those people we couldn't afford actual gifts, we decided to make Peanut Butter Cookies with kisses and chocolate covered pretzels. We bought some big tin cans with a Christmas decor to put them in. Can you go wrong with that??? I hope not. I didn't mean to leave anyone out, and next year,.... I'll try to keep to the budget better. It's just that now that the boys come over often, and even Kaity has been coming over now (yeah!), we had a total of 5 kids to get gifts for. Wow... I could never imagine that I would be getting gifts for 5 kids...lol. It's nice that we are able to though.

We even bought my mom and dad as well as Dana's mom a present this year. Andy and Laura were able to help chip in to get grams and gramps a 1 year memebership to the Liberty Memorial. I hope that they enjoy it. They have a new WWI museum that just opened. I think they will like it.

What else? Well... Joe was baptized on November 16th. That was a great feeling, and Pastor Trost did an excellent job. I have never seen a baptism like he had done. Joe is 6, so pastor sat next to Joe and explained to him in Joe's terms what baptism means. It was really nice. Mom and Dad, grams and gramps and Andy and Bethany were able to make it too. That meant a lot!
